- Still connected to the grid. You are still connected to the utility grid and would be expected to pay a small fixed monthly rate, considered the standard connection fee.
- Ameren Illinois rates are moving. Ameren Illinois residential rates have risen about 94 percent since 2021, from roughly 8 cents to about 15.5 cents per kWh in 2026, driven by rate increases approved by the Illinois Commerce Commission and a sharp rise in regional capacity prices. Past increases do not guarantee future ones.
